Welcome Social and Presentation by The Climate Project 5:30-7:30pm The Mapping and Imagery that Changed the Way We Think About Global Climate Change Local light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served at the Firehouse Gallery
located a few blocks from the Hilton on Church Street. Ray Sirois, IT Manager for Wright-Pierce in Topsham, Maine, will present his own non-partisan version of Al Gore’s now-famous slide show on climate change. Ray has received subsequent training from the Union of Concerned Scientists. Fifteen years of experience working in the GIS field will inform
Ray's presentation, which will include highlights from the Northeast Climate Impacts Assessment and focus on ways GIS has and will continue to be used to explore climate change. Fee: $35 per person |

Vendor Reception and Poster Social from 4:00-6:00pm
Chat with vendors and catch up on what’s new in GIS services, products, and technology in a casual atmosphere. Vendors generously support NEARC every year, and we hope that attendees will take advantage of this opportunity to talk with them face-to-face. Posters created by GIS colleagues will be on display, and everyone will have a chance to vote for their favorite! |
Dine Around 6:00-8:30pm Dinner is on your own on Monday night, and Burlington has a great selection of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Stop by the registration desk for suggestions and menus. |
The Dave Grippo Funk Band at Nectars Nightclub 8:30-midnight Nectar’s is a legendary Burlington club that helped launch the careers of Phish and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Its other distinctions include famously heart-clogging but delicious gravy fries, and an architectural oddity that allows for eavesdropping on patrons sitting in just the right location on the opposite side of the room. If these are not enough to draw you out on Monday night, you’ll just have to come for the Dave Grippo Funk Band, another Burlington Legend that won’t let you down—
sit down that is, because you’ll be dancing all night long. |
