The GPS Muster will take place during the regularly scheduled events. Contestants, at their leisure, may take a marker flag outside and place it on the following surveyed coordinates:
- This event often falls on a fine Spring day so you may also want to load the following waypoints into your unit for a rousing walkabout: Spring NEARC Walkabout http://74.94.173.233/DPW/Misc/Smith_wpts.zip
- Mass State Plane 2001: 897138.919 106124.708 metric
(yes, we're talking millimeters here.)
There is a DGPS Coast Guard signal available, as well as a CORS base station broadcasting internet CMR+. WAAS will probably be visible, but who knows. The actual mark will be revealed after lunch. The person(s) who get closest to the true point will be presented with GPS bling.
